Philosophy of Care
Queen Mary Midwifery believes in the power and strength of women and the value of their health and the well-being of their families.
Queen Mary Midwifery believes that pregnancy, labour and birth are natural physiology; that women with a healthy pregnancy should have access to midwifery care. Midwifery care respects individuality and diversity among groups. Queen Mary promotes continuity of care among women and their family, in their own community.
Women are the primary decision makers for their pregnancy; having personalised care from a respectful care provider promotes informed decision-making for your health. Interprofessional collaboration allows for consultation and referral with other members of the health care team as needed to provide you with optimal care.
Finally, you would receive individual support and respect to birth with dignity.
